Aveda Earth Jam Fashion/Hair Show

So this past Tuesday, April 12th my school had a fashion/hair show. There were several fashion houses that we chose to represent. Alexander McQueen, Chanel, Betsey Johnson, and Prada! I was in the Prada group and my model was a former student and friend name Kanisha who just graduated. I made a wig to use on her. My groups inspiration for makeup and hair was based of Prada's Fall/Winter fashion show for 2010. I had such a great time and all the groups represented extremely well. To all my blog followers you will also notice that that I have went back to dark hair and decided to get invisible micro braids. I'm growing my hair out, so let the journey begin. ENJOY ALL!!!

My Smokey Eye

It has been awhile since I posted...and I apologize to my fellow bloggers and followers....I finally did a video on my NUMBER 1 pet peeve, eyebrows! I also showed everyone my take on doing a smokey eye. I chose to use a combination of E.L.F and Urban Decay...for now I just want to post a couple of pics until the video loads....BY THE WAY what would you like to see me talk about ?? I promise I will get better at this one day soon! School has me beat and I have 4 more months left....This has got to be the most exhausting thing I ever done in life! Going to school full time is so much harder than it was growing up, makes you wonder how you did it every day for 13 years straight!!! WELL SIEZE THE DAY FOLKS!!!!

Hey guys so I am trying to get better about filming on my youtube channel and posting on my blog! I am glad to see that I have surpassed the 1200 views mark! I want to thank Dulce Candy for her past recommendations on what Mac foundation to try! Even though I am a hair stylist and makeup artist, before last year I wasn't wearing foundations/concealer on myself! It's so much easier to paint on the blank canvas of someone else rather than yourself! Christmas in NYC

So I am in New York for the Xmas and New Year's Eve holiday. Its been both eventful and amazing all at the same time! The East coast got a snow storm and New York itself got 3-4 feet of snow. Today I ventured off to go look at shops and stores on Pitkin Ave and I even went to my father's old neighborhood. I am still trying to figure out what I am going to do let alone where for NYE. Lets see...quick Update

Hi to all my new followers! I know its been awhile since I updated however I had a series of unfortunate events and then I had the flu. So talk about an eventful last couple of weeks! I have been doing quite of bit of learning on my new MacBook so that I can edit video for my blog and youtube videos. Almost 4 weeks ago now I hit the salon floor at my school and on the first week we had what you call model week. You could invite family and friends to come get free hair cuts and color, basically to help those who are nervous with working with clients who are going to be coming in on a walk in or appointment basis. My roommate, her classmate, my mom and grandfather all came in! IT was an extremely great experience and I was exceptionally proud of my hair cut on my roommate who let me cut about 9+ inches of hair off her head, and I gave her a partial highlight!!! AVEDA HALLOWEEN-Last Day in the Classroom

So right now I am feeling so many feelings about going through the hardest part of this process. From nostalgia, euphoria, excitement, and anxiety! It's all so hard to contain...Its been a culmination of 12+ years, several layoffs, love losses, devastating experiences and although at the time it seemed as if I was the only one traveling on this road...I have created some relationships with some young ladies who share similar challenges as well as the fears that we may never make it through this, although we all know WE WILL! You ever just make the decision to be some where and when you get there, you know without a shadow of a doubt that you JUST BELONG THERE!??
Yesterday I had a final and I passed it with flying colors. Today we had a halloween party and these ladies really put on a show. I feel both blessed and grateful to be here. Hey Everyone!
So quick update...I finally did the eyeshadow tutorial but I have been have trouble uploading it , 1 because its 27 minutes long! LOL I know don't know don't laugh. I didn't realize that I had rambled on that much. So right now I have been in the process of learning how to edit video on my MacBook. I haven't had it quite a month yet so I have no idea how to edit video or what are the best programs to do such a thing. Saturday at school we had a "Free for All" day so I decided to become a red head. My overall goal is to become a hot pink like the rap artist Charli Baltimore used to be. So I am an Aveda Intense Red and I will brighten it up as time goes on. A couple of quick things I wanted to point out since I have to be careful what I post on my Facebook account because you have a couple of "trolls" who report back on everything you say LOL! You know we spend a lot of money to go to this school, being that it is a TOP TEN, and its gets really dis-enheartening when you have bratty young women who don't even want to be here, and they can turn such a positive experience into a negative one! If you don't want to be here, make room for those of us who would much rather be here than the rest of ya! FOR ME, this is more than a dream, its an awakening of my mind, body and spirit! I wake up with a smile on my face every day THANKING GOD for allowing me to finally take a risk and envelop myself in every part of this experience after being spiritually, and emotionally dead to it all! Now that I got that out the way I just want you all to be apart of this with me...if I can spread the positivity around that I have found in my life, it makes me feel like I am doing not only what I can, but what I HAVE TOO! So This is a little difficult.....

So after the bright idea of starting a blog, I realized that its a tad bit difficult to keep up with! My schedule is ridiculous! BUT HERE I AM!! I posted a new video on the Aveda Be Curly products as well! Please bare with me as I am still going post a video on the eyeshadow tutorial. So I am into week 3 of my second phase in school before I hit the floor, and I couldn't be more excited! I have been doing some amazing hair cuts, and down below I have posted some pictures of some of the things I have been up to! I recently book another wedding slated for February 26th, 2011. This girl has 11 bridesmaids plus herself and two daughters! Can you say busy, busy, busy! I am thrilled, and cant wait to show you all what my worked looks like when professionally photographed! I look forward to all of your posting....So don't get your panties knotted up ladies YOU TWO WILL BE ABLE TO KHAMELEONIZE soon!

Well today was my first day in Phase II after completing and passing my final last Friday! WHOEVER knew hair/makeup school would be this difficult?? I am feeling beyond amazed and blessed to be doing what I love. Some of you have asked me to do a tutorial on the eyeshadow that's in the header of my blog. So I plan to do that on Sunday so that you all can get the benefit of learning how to make your eyeshadow pop. I am looking forward to any suggestions that you all may have!!! Ok I finally did it...

It's almost 2:30 am and I finally have put up this blog after years and years of falling in love with hair and makeup. Some are probably reading this wonder what planet aligned with what star to finally get me to do this. Let's just say after several layoffs, and getting tired of being in a stuffy office, without the ability to act on my creativity, kind of put my ass in to high gear! When you get closer to the age of 30 I think sometimes you find it a little more difficult to take risk that drastically alter your life, but I had to do it...so after my last lay off I decided to quit looking for work and apply to a top ten hair and makeup school. After I was accepted, I recently began in August of this year. Can you believe I have been doing this already for upwards of 12+ years but are just now going to school for it?? This blog is for all my friends, family, and fans to follow me on my journey, as I graduate school while starting my own image consulting business. I plan to post pictures, music, and give idea and opinions on my favorite products! Look out for my youtube videos coming soon!
